Since 2005, La Conexión has been meeting the needs of the Twin Cities Latino community through educational programming, connections to social services, a community skill-sharing program, and opportunities for cross-cultural relationship-building.
La Conexión has surpassed all of our original program goals and continues to grow! In 2006, we served just over 600 Spanish-speaking individuals during walk-in hours of the Referral Center. In 2007, that number jumped to 962! It appears that 2008 will be an even bigger year, as January 2008 had more than double the number of January 2007! The attached case statement explains all of our current programming in detail. I hope you will take a couple of minutes to look it over.
Unfortunately, La Conexión is facing an immediate cash flow crisis this spring. If we do not raise $16,000 from various sources by June 1, we will need to cut staff hours, resulting in the cutting of programs. We have set a goal of raising $10,000 of this amount from individual donations and business sponsors. (The attached brochure details sponsorship levels and incentives for businesses.
It is clear that La Conexión is filling a need in the community, and I hope you will consider making a contribution to help ensure that these programs and services will continue in the future. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. La Conexión thanks you!
