Manager, Career & Professional Development

The Manager, Career & Professional Development will be primarily responsible for the administration and management, including staff and budget, of the department.  This position is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with judges, law firms, public interest employers and other potential employers of the college’s students and alumni.  The manager is responsible for overseeing and participating in the education and development of students by developing and implementing educational programs and individual mentoring/counseling.   

Qualifications:  J.D. required; 3-5 years mgmt experience and demonstrated expertise in business development, career counseling, career development and/or previous legal experience; in-depth knowledge of the legal profession; effective interpersonal, communication, public speaking and presentation skills; ability to develop and maintain effective and positive relationships; ability to develop collaborative working relationships; and effective listening, coaching, and mentoring skills.  30-50% of time will be spent at off-campus meetings for relationship development.
