By matching law students and attorneys by areas of interest, the Mentorship Program provides students with the resources to succeed as law students and future attorneys in the Minnesota legal community.
The MHBA Mentorship Program provides students with the opportunity to learn more about the Latino/a legal community in Minnesota. The Mentorship Reception marks the commencement of the program.
Contact Esteban Rivera at erivera02@hamlineuniversity.edu with questions. We will do everything possible to match the mentor and mentee before the reception to give them an opportunity to meet.
The 2010 MHBA Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 14th at Faegre & Benson, LLP. Our keynote speaker will be Rick Palmore, Executive Vice President, General Counsel of General Mills, Inc. The Hispanic National Bar Association President, Roman Hernandez, will be joining us this year to generate excitement for the upcoming 2010 HNBA Annual Convention in Minnesota, September 8-11. Officers and members of the Board of Directors will also be elected at the Annual Meeting. The MHBA will also be recognizing the work of other members of the community that addresses the needs of the Latino/a community in Minnesota through two annual awards: (1) the Courage in Leadership Award and (2) the Access to Justice Award. Finally, a local nonprofit will be awarded the MHBA law student Endowment Fund Award. The Endowment Fund is a source of funding for a law student intern or law clerk working in a nonprofit organization that serves the Latino/a community.
