2010 HNBA Annual Convention

El Futuro Sin Lmite/Future Without Limit

Location: Hilton, Minneapolis

Time: September 8-11

The Hispanic National Bar Association (“HNBA”) has chosen Minnesota as the site of its 35th Annual Convention where the converging interest in education for both Minnesota and the HNBA will be explored. The HNBA is an active organization dedicated to issue advocacy, programmatic activities, networking events, and educational conferences to strengthen the Latino legal community.

The Convention brings together Hispanic lawyers, business leaders, educators, and policy makers to share ideas and build relationships. The Convention offers a continuing legal education program accredited in all states and numerous social networking opportunities. In parallel, the HNBA holds the nation’s largest job fair for experienced Hispanic lawyers and law students, with scores of employers being matched with hundreds of talented job seekers.

Minnesota will welcome the HNBA and its supporters with an opening reception at Orchestra Hall. Convention attendees will have the opportunity to network with fellow professionals from across the continent. Home to the internationally-acclaimed Minnesota Orchestra, Orchestra Hall was designed as a gathering place and to encourage people throughout the Minnesota community to experience the symphony. Located at the end of Nicollet Mall, Orchestra Hall is just a few steps away from the Hilton Minneapolis Hotel, the heart of the convention. Thursday night will be hosted at the Science Museum of Minnesota. Located along the banks of the Mississippi River in downtown St. Paul the museum is an idyllic backdrop for an evening of fine dining and entertainment.

The Convention also marks the presentation of the Ohtli (Oat-ley) Award, the Mexican government’s highest honor awarded to non-Mexican citizens. Meaning, ‘path’ or the ‘pathway,’ the Ohtli is awarded to one individual from a variety of professions such as the arts, sciences, education, medicine, and the law. The Convention’s events will center in the Minneapolis Hilton Hotel. Breakfasts and lunches will feature nationally-renown speakers as part of plenary sessions. CLE’s and the job fair will take place in the hotel, and the Hilton will also be home for the convention’s closing Gala celebration. MHBA is proud to host the HNBA 35th Annual Convention. We hope that you make every effort to join us.

Thank you!
