The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of relevant legal experience working with complex personal injury and/or product liability claims and proven communication skills. We are looking for a team player with demonstrable research and writing skills and strong academic credentials. Responsibilities include client management, reviewing and summarizing medical records, drafting and responding to discovery requests, and researching and writing memoranda &amp; motions, along with a wide variety of other tasks associated with complex tort litigation.</p>

The HCBA serves its members’ needs by advancing professionalism, ethical conduct, diversity, competence, practice development, and collegiality within the legal profession.  The HCBA also serves the public at large by striving to ensure fairness and accessibility to the courts, promoting public understanding and confidence in the legal system, and working to improve the administration of justice.</p>
<p><b>Primary Duties:</b><br />
<br />The executive assistant provides primary administrative support to the HCBA’s executive director and to the volunteer leadership of the association, and coordinates special projects related to the governance and management of the organization.  The executive assistant also serves as the Fourth District Ethics Committee Coordinator regarding ethics complaints filed against attorneys. <p><b>Experience:</b><br />
<br />Essential skills include: excellent oral and written communications, mastery of Microsoft Word, substantial experience in data entry, high level of professionalism, tact and positivity, attention to detail, impeccable integrity and ethical standards, and excellent time management and problem solving abilities. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of work experience directly applicable to the duties, skills, and experience required. Additional desired skills include: experience working with attorneys and/or judges, experience working for an association, demonstrated interest in board governance, strategy development, and organizational development, experience with MS Access, an association management system (AMS) and/or customer relationship management system (CRM), experience in website maintenance, use of social media for organizational purposes and experience using PowerPoint, Prezi, or other presentation software.</p>
<p><b>Additional Information:</b><br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>St. Paul, MN</strong> – Governor Dayton is looking for a committed individual to serve as one of four Eighth Judicial District members of the Commission on Judicial Selection. This position must be held by a non-attorney. The 49-member Commission reviews applications and makes recommendations for vacancies on district court, the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals, and at the Governor’s request, appellate courts.</p>
<p>Governor Dayton expects Commission members to be dedicated and active throughout their service. The Governor believes that “Minnesota needs to recruit and select the very best among our citizens to assume the enormous responsibilities of serving in the judiciary.”</p>
<p>District members consider vacancies within the judicial district for which they occur. A significant time commitment is expected of members. No compensation shall be received and no expenses incurred will be reimbursed. More information regarding the Commission can be found within its Outline of Procedures on the <a href="http://mn.gov/governor/appointments/judicial-appointments/">Governor’s website</a>.</p>

<p>The Hamline Law Latino Law Student Association is pleased to host the eighth annual Juris Fiesta Gala Celebration. This year&#8217;s theme is &#8220;Spirit of Unity, Feeling of Community.&#8221; Peter Reyes, President-Elect of the National Hispanic Bar Association, will serve as the guest speaker.</p>
<p>Every year, Juris Fiesta brings together law students, faculty, professionals from the legal and business sectors, and the Latino community at large. The goal of the event is to raise funds to provide a scholarship for law students at Hamline University School of Law who demonstrate academic merit, community service, and commitment to promoting diversity. The evening will begin with an exquisite Latin cuisine meal, followed by a short program and end with a night of socializing and dancing.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This position will provide legal counsel and expertise to UnitedHealth Group and its affiliated business segments principally in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, investments, financings and general corporate matters. This individual will regularly interact with company leaders and outside counsel on issues having impact across UnitedHealth Group.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Advise in many areas of corporate legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions (including sale/leaseback transactions), equity and debt investments, financings (including commercial paper programs and credit facilities) and general corporate counseling.</li>
<li>Oversee and coordinate legal due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, investments, financings and other related activities.</li>
<li>Assist the company and its subsidiaries in its general corporate affairs and risk management.</li>
<li>Collaborate with colleagues across the UnitedHealth Group legal department and business departments, including Corporate Development, Corporate Finance, Real Estate and Treasury.</li>
<li>Interact and coordinate with external counsel.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Juris Doctorate Degree.</li>
<li>7+ years legal experience with mid to large size corporation or law firm.</li>
<li>Health care experience a plus.</li>
<li>Significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, investments, financings and other transaction related matters.</li>
<li>Experience in securities law compliance requirements related to mergers and acquisitions, investments and financing activities.</li>
<li>Strong work ethic.</li>
<li>Flexible, with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently.</li>
<li>Strong business acumen and decision making skills.</li>
<li>Experience in handling a variety of complex legal matters or projects.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills and legal research skills.</li>
<li>Adept at working in a fast-paced, performance-driven culture.</li>
<li>Ability to build and maintain rapport with all levels of the company and external company contacts.</li>
